Donating to TriState Habitat for Humanity

Thank you for considering a donation to TriState Habitat For Humanity. Each gift you make helps a family in need of decent shelter. All TriState Habitat For Humanity donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law and will be acknowledged with a letter you may use for those purposes. Gifts made on-line are safe, thanks to our secure-server capability and will be put to good use by Habitat. We take seriously our responsibility to contributors, to those counting on our help to be wise stewards of funds entrusted to us.

We raise all our funds locally and receive no funding from Habitat for Humanity International. We support the efforts of Habitat for Humanity International by sending 10% of all donations to Habitat for Humanity El Salvador, unless the donation is restricted to be used in the TriState area.

Secure Online Donations

Sponsorship
Corporations or Churches can “sponsor” the build of a home with the commitment of a donation of $50,000. That group can also have their employees or congregations participate and organize the 16 week volunteer building days on each Saturday of the project timeline. For more information please contact Natalie Nuce.

Building Materials
The TriState Habitat For Humanity ReStore needs your donations...of almost any items you take out of your home. Especially needed are doors, windows, cabinets (kitchen or other) and working appliances (10 years or less). But any building or remodeling material that's in good shape can be recycled through the ReStore, saving landfill space/costs and providing a tax deduction as well. Equally important, your donations will go back into the community to help people who are upgrading their homes. The ReStore resells your new or used items (as well as corporate donations) for 50% to 70% off retail prices. All operating profits from ReStore sales go into Habitat's building program, helping provide adequate housing for families of the Greater Cincinnati area.

Please drop-off your donations at the ReStore during business hours. Pick-up services are available on a limited basis. Please contact our office for more information.. ReStore Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday - 9am-5pm; Friday and Saturday 9am-4pm.

Land
As the TriState area continues to grow, securing land for TriState Habitat For Humanity home projects becomes more challenging. If you are aware of a parcel of land in the area that may be available, we'd like to talk to you

TriState Habitat For Humanity purchases land at fair appraisal value. We do not purchase property in the flood plain and we do not mediate heir ship issues. If you know of such property or would like to speak to us about the sale or donation of your property, please contact us. Thank you for helping to create affordable housing in the TriState area.

Donate a Car to Habitat's "Cars for Homes" Program
Your car donation can help a family build a house, and the hope of a better life! Car donations help TriState Habitat For Humanity build homes in partnership with families within our community! Plus, donating a car, truck, boat, RV or other vehicle is quick, easy, and your car donation may be eligible for tax deduction purposes if you itemize (consult the IRS or your tax advisor for details). Cars for Homes™ accepts a majority of cars, trucks, boats, RVs and other vehicles with proper title and ownership information, and makes the arrangements to have your vehicle, keys and title picked up for processing.

Net proceeds generated by donated vehicle sales are used by TriState Habitat For Humanity to build homes in partnership with families in our community.

Stock and Bond Gifts
A charitable gift of stocks or bonds provides an opportunity for tax savings while generously sharing with others. A gift of stock owned for more than one year entitles you to a charitable deduction for the full market value at the time the gift is made. If the stock has appreciated, you also avoid a capital gains tax on the appreciation. In addition to helping TSHFH, you may diversify away from low-basis, long-term holdings into other assets that will better suit your current needs.
