Committees

If you are interested in joining any of these committees, contact the committee chairs at the email addresses or phone provided. Please check the Events and Meetings Calendar for Committee meeting dates and locations.

Time commitment of a committee member is typically a few hours a month with occasional special voluntary tasks. You can volunteer online for any of the committees listed below. Please check the committee that interests you in the "Committee and Support Volunteer Positions" section of the form. The Family Support Committee

helps to prepare new TriState Habitat families for home ownership. They act as mentors and advisors to the family and help to monitor their sweat equity hours.
 

The Family Selection Committee

reviews applications from prospective Habitat homeowners. They determine if applicants meet the qualifications for home ownership and are involved with the application throughout the approval process.
 

The Fundraising Committee

organizes fundraising events and solicits donations from companies and individuals for TriState Habitat for Humanity.
 

The Site Selection Committee

investigates possible sites for Habitat houses, performs title searches and other research, and recommends suitable sites to the board.   The Construction Committee serves the affiliates in Site Selection by reviewing and providing recommendation to the board to approve the acceptance of the donation or purchasing of land for future home construction.
 

The Volunteer Coordination Committee

recruits, schedules and coordinates appropriate volunteers for Habitat projects.
 

The Public Relations Committee

gets out the Habitat message through the media, through presentations at churches and companies, and at public events.
 

Construction Committee

The Construction Committee works to define the type of construction that best fits the needs of the local community and Habitat's goals. The committee proposes guidelines to the Board for the type of construction work that the affiliate will do, dealing specifically with the house design criteria, materials, plans, green building and energy efficiency.
